Jerami Grant, John Collins Viewed As Targets For The Kings
While staying on the topic of Jerami Grant, the Sacramento Kings have turned their attention from Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons to the Pistons’ forward.
Grant is in the second season of a three-year, $60M deal and while the Pistons do not necessarily want to move him, they are interested in adding a ton of future value to their franchise.
Jerami Grant has been a key talent for the Pistons since signing with them ahead of last season, but the Pistons do run the risk of losing him in 2023 as a free agent should they decide to keep him this year.
Out of all the players in the league, Jerami Grant’s trade market may be the biggest, as plenty of playoff contending teams have inquired about his availability. It is said that if traded, Grant wants to go somewhere that he can not only continue holding a vast role in the team’s offense, but receive a contract extension worth upwards of $100M as well.

The Sacramento Kings need another “star-like” player next to De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton, plus they could very well be willing to offer Grant a massive contract extension given their lack of success through the years.
Marvin Bagley III is a young talent the Pistons have shown interest in over the years and should the Kings want to free up some more cap space, Detroit could be willing to bring in a sharpshooter like Buddy Hield as well.
In addition to Jerami Grant, sources have told NBA Analysis Network that the Kings have inquired about Hawks’ forward John Collins as well.
The Hawks have struggled this season and with them currently being outside of the playoff picture, they are going to be looking to make some moves ahead of the NBA trade deadline. The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported a few weeks ago about John Collins growing “increasingly frustrated” with his role in Atlanta, which could lead the Hawks to trade him.

Collins and the Hawks had a hard time in contract extension negotiations prior to the start of last season and after failing to agree to terms on a new deal, the two sides once again did not see eye-to-eye on John Collins’ worth until the Hawks gave in and came to terms on a five-year, $125M deal with the young power-forward this past offseason.
With his production down this season and Collins growing more and more frustrated every day with the Hawks, now would be the time for them to try and add value around Trae Youngin favor of John Collins.
Harrison Barnes could very well be a player the Hawks show interest in given their need for another wing scorer and it is possible that Atlanta could include Danilo Gallinari in a deal with the Kings as well to free up some cap space heading into the offseason.
