Does this trade make sense for the Golden State Warriors?
One of the reasons Golden State has been such a successful franchise through the years is because they have built a strong, family-like atmosphere both on the floor and in the locker room. There really is no toxic behavior from anyone within this organization and they just simply have fun, which directly results in their success.
John Collins is said to be frustrated in Atlanta and has voiced his anger with the team on multiple occasions in the locker room following losses. Maybe he just needs a change of scenery, but is this really the guy the Golden State Warriors should want to bring in while they are in the midst of contending for a championship?
At 24-years-old and being the dynamic power-forward that he is, John Collins could certainly find success with the Warriors, but it is really hard to envision why he is frustrated after receiving a five-year, $125M deal from the Atlanta Hawks.
This is not really a contract the Warriors should be interested in either. Being about $40M over the tax line this season, Golden State is already paying the most luxury taxes out of any team in the NBA and this is going to continue with Curry, Thompson, Green and Wiggins all on long-term, high-paying deals.

There is no reason for the Warriors to sacrifice their young core of promising looking talents for another extremely high-paying contract, one that would cripple them financially for at least the next decade.
