Would this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?

De’Aaron Fox would give the Indiana Pacers a more fun look. Domantas Sabonis is great at basketball, and right now, he’s probably the better player of the two. But in terms of playstyle and overall personality, Fox is certainly more entertaining.

While that’s not necessarily what the Pacers should care about the most (that would be winning), if their current team isn’t winning, why not take a chance on someone who would bring a whole new look to the current roster?

Fox is only about a year and a half younger than Sabonis, but it feels as though he still has a ton of room to grow. After what he showed last season, it’s not crazy to think that he can be a franchise point guard (despite this year’s struggles).

If this deal were to get done, Indiana’s starting lineup could look something like this – Fox, Malcolm Brogdon, Caris LeVert, TJ Warren (when healthy), and Myles Bridges. Those are some great, well-rounded pieces to put around Fox for the future.

Sabonis is great, but right now, he hasn’t been good enough to elevate the Pacers to a playoff-level team. So, if the current team isn’t working, why not try out a new fit? Throw in some picks in the deal, and this trade is one the Pacers should consider.
