The Chicago Bulls showcased a powerful defensive performance to overcome the Indiana Pacers 125-99, ending their three-game losing streak during Wednesday’s NBA action. With DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic leading the charge, the Bulls demonstrated teamwork and strategic play to secure the win.

“As a team, I thought we were very connected defensively,” Bulls coach Billy Donovan said. “I really thought the way they helped each other was very important … with (Indiana) being such a hard team to guard offensively, the number of points they score.”

The Pacers’ struggle was evident as they failed to find their rhythm against the Bulls’ defense. Pascal Siakam, a key player for Indiana, acknowledged the team’s lack of energy and difficulty in penetrating Chicago’s defense.

“I thought we didn’t have the sense of urgency early to get into the paint, as much as we usually do,” said Siakam, who often was double-teamed. “Obviously we weren’t making shots and I said we didn’t have no juice, no real energy, like kind of flat.”

Alex Caruso, known for his defensive prowess, expressed his satisfaction upon learning the Bulls were the first team to hold the Pacers under 100 points this season.

“They seemed a little tired, but we played well,” Caruso said. “We covered for each other and didn’t have any of those lapses where we give up a slip-out layup, or somebody forgot to rotate or get in and battle for the rebound.”

The Bulls’ victory was not just a defensive masterclass but also an offensive spectacle, with all five starters scoring in double digits. This balanced attack and significant contributions from the bench underscored the depth of talent within the Bulls’ roster.

As both teams look ahead, the Pacers aim to bounce back against the Los Angeles Lakers, while the Bulls set their sights on their next challenge against Brooklyn.
