Would this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?

For the Indiana Pacers, this would help them spark a rebuild, which at this point, is honestly years overdue. Trading Myles Turner away for two young players and a first-round pick is actually a really good deal for them, especially since they’d still have Domantas Sabonis.

Mitchell Robinson would come in and immediately replace Turner. Obviously, he doesn’t provide the same floor spacing, but he’s a great lob threat and a solid rim protector. He’s also a couple of years younger, so he still has a lot of time to improve as a player.

Rookie Quentin Grimes has shown flashes of being a great scorer. He did just that at the University of Houston. Grimes’ dynamic scoring is the exact sort of thing the Pacers should target. Any player that could add some excitement would be great for them, and if they got him, they’d have two solid rookie wings in Grimes and Chris Duarte.

If they made this trade, the Pacers might be better off completely gutting the team. Trading Sabonis and caris LeVert would allow them to give a boatload of minutes to Robinson, Grimes, and anyone else they would have traded for at that point.

That would create a nice, new young core in Indiana. They’ve been too mediocre for way too long, and making trades like these would be a nice step in the right direction. This is a solid return for Turner, and the Pacers should definitely consider a deal like this.
