Things may have been slow to develop, but the trade market sounds like it is finally heating up in the NBA. One of the teams that will be in the middle of plenty of trade talks going forward is the Indiana Pacers.

It was revealed a few weeks ago that the Pacers were a team looking to make some deals.

While a full teardown, like the Philadelphia 76ers did and the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets are in the middle of, wasn’t on the table, they would not be afraid to shake things up.

Three of the player mentioned as possible trade candidates were Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner and Caris LeVert. With teams getting healthier and players returning from the league’s protocols, the trade market for each of them is beginning to come into focus.

For Myles Turner, two teams have emerged as potential suitors. According to The Athletic, the Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks are two teams interested in acquiring Turner from Indiana.

Rival teams are ramping up conversations with the Pacers involving guard Caris LeVert and center Myles Turner. The Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks are expressing interest in trading for Turner, sources said.

Both teams would be good fits for Turner, who is looking for an expanded role after feeling like a glorified role player with the Indiana Pacers. He could become the third option in Dallas behind Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, while he would help modernize the Knicks’ offense should they acquire him.

A lot of New York’s struggles this season stem from teams being able to throw double teams at Julius Randle and RJ Barrett. Tom Thibodeau almost always has a center on the court that doesn’t threaten opposing teams offensively outside of dunks and putbacks, making the rest of the players on the court easier to defend.

Having someone capable of stepping out to the 3-point line and knocking down jump shots would open things up greatly for the Knicks. Not to mention, Turner is also an elite rim protector, leading the league in blocks per game for what would be the third time in four seasons.

Acquiring him will be easier said than done, as competition will be fierce. Teams such as the Charlotte Hornets, Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors could also get into the bidding. Indiana would be smart to sell high, as Myles Turner’s value may never be better than it is right now.
