Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
Giving up Caris LeVert and Myles Turner for Ben Simmons is a move that the Indiana Pacers should be highly interested in. Simmons is one of the best defenders in the entire NBA and only being 25-years-old, there is still time for him to correct mistakes on the offensive end of the floor.
Should they make a move to acquire Simmons from the Philadelphia 76ers, the Pacers would definitely have a chance to sneak into the play-in tournament this season, but most importantly, they would have their core group moving forward.
Malcolm Brogdon, Domantas Sabonis, and Ben Simmons would be a formidable trio in the Eastern Conference and the Pacers would have the ability to build around them this upcoming offseason with T.J. Warren and Jeremy Lamb becoming free agents.
The way their roster is constructed right now, it is hard to see the Indiana Pacers being able to turn things around this season and while Myles Turner is the anchor for them defensively, adding Ben Simmons makes them a better defensive team because of all that he can do on that end of the floor.
