Does this trade make sense for the Portland Trail Blazers?

If they were to give up CJ McCollum, the Portland Trail Blazers would need to be receiving a pretty decent-sized trade package that presents value now and moving forward.

Myles Turner and Danny Green could certainly help this team get better defensively, as they rank 28th in the league in defensive rating, but it seems like something is missing on the receiving end for the Blazers here.

They really are not a terrible-looking team with a core of Lillard, McCollum, Powell, Covington, and Nurkic, but they just are not good enough right now talent-wise to compete at the highest level possible in the Western Conference.

Portland would much rather bring in Turner and LeVert or just Ben Simmons instead of what they are getting in this trade, which is why they would likely be the ones wanting to change the terms of this proposal.

Adding future value with Springer and some draft picks is definitely useful to the Blazers, but at the same time, they still believe that they can turn things around and make the playoffs this season.

It will be very difficult to do, but if they were to add Caris LeVert and Myles Turner at the expense of CJ McCollum, it is reasonable to believe that they could improve enough defensively to possibly sneak into the playoff picture.

Danny Green really does not bring much value to this team other than being an experienced veteran and other than Myles Turner, it is hard to pinpoint what exactly the Blazers are getting for one of their best talents in McCollum.

Some revisions need to be made to this deal in order for it to work for the Portland Trail Blazers.
