3. Atlanta Hawks
If the Atlanta Hawks were to trade for Dennis Schroder, he’d be heading back to the team he began his career with after being selected No. 17 overall in the 2013 NBA Draft.
Schroder did not want to stick around when the Hawks were beginning a rebuilding process. Coming off a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals, the Hawks are clearly a win-now team.
One of the concerns the Hawks face is their lack of scoring contributions from their bench personnel. Atlanta is receiving just 32.0 bench points per game (23rd) so far this season.
Adding a point guard in Schroder who managed to finish second in voting for the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year Award in 2019-20 could help. He averaged 18.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists during that campaign.

Not only would adding Schroder help the Atlanta Hawks’ bench unit when the team’s starting backcourt is available to play. Atlanta would be further insulated from a disaster if Trae Young were to be sidelined again.
