After a postseason appearance last year, the Memphis Grizzlies have to be in the conversation once again. Right now, Memphis is right in the middle of the conference and it will be interesting to see if they can keep it up.
Ja Morant is one of the league’s leading scorers over the early part of the season. He is going to miss some time with a knee injury but avoided anything serious. When he returns, he could use some more help.
The offseason was full of rumors in Memphis. They put certain contracts on the trading block such as Dillon Brooks and Kyle Anderson. To this point, neither has been moved but that should be the goal prior to the trade deadline.
The Grizzlies could pair these two together, along with a draft pick, to acquire a star. Where will it come from? That is what the team needs to find. Buddy Hield comes to mind as a three-point threat that could help the Grizzlies right away.

Jaren Jackson Jr. signed this offseason so the Grizzlies’ core is together for years to come. If this team wants to continue to compete for the postseason, they will have to make some more moves to improve.
Morant is the clear franchise in Memphis and they have themselves a good one. Moving forward, it is about putting the right players around him and that can be done in a trade.
