Los Angeles Lakers: Patience Is A Virtue
The Los Angeles Lakers are going to receive a lot of criticism for their opening night performance. Losing to the Golden State Warriors when you limit Stephen Curry’s impact offensive as much as they did is a disappointment.
But, the Lakers need to take a long-term approach and tune out all of the naysayers. It was only one game in an 82-game season and there is plenty of time to figure things out. Remaining patient and continuing to build chemistry in practice is key.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis were both excellent, combining for 67 points as both players registered double-doubles with 11 rebounds apiece. But, no one else stepped up behind them, as no other Laker player scored in double-figures.
Russell Westbrook’s struggles from the preseason continued, as he scored eight points with five rebounds and four assists to go with four turnovers in 35 minutes.

The Lakers were missing key parts of their rotation, as Trevor Ariza, Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn, and Wayne Ellington were all out with injuries. Getting everyone healthy and on the same page is what the Lakers need to be focused on at the beginning of the season.
Once they start getting things on track from that perspective, they will start winning some games.
