2. Cade Cunningham wins NBA Rookie of the Year
Cade Cunningham had one of the best freshman years in the Big 12 in quite some time. He was named the Big 12 Player of the Year along with being an All-Conference selection and part of the All-American team. This made him a must-have prospect in the 2021 NBA Draft and Detroit was lucky enough to be in that position.
Cunningham put up 20.1 points per game on 43.8% shooting from the field and 40% from three-point range. He also grabbed 6.2 rebounds per game and shot 84.6% from the free-throw line.
At 6’8, Cunningham is ready to come into the NBA and start right away. He is extremely quick and athletic, which will help at the next level.
Cunningham is certainly the favorite to win the rookie of the year award and this could happen if he is able to stay healthy and play up to his potential.
