Worst Trade Destination No. 1: Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings are one the teams that have been pushing the hardest to acquire Ben Simmons this offseason. They are mired in a 15-year playoffs drought, which is tied for the longest in NBA history. They could use a spark and Simmons would provide that.
Simmons would help turn around what was the worst defensively rated team in the history of the NBA. But, depending on who the Kings would have to trade to acquire him, the roster could be left relatively bare.
Simmons needs a very specific roster built around him to succeed. 3-point shooting has to be prioritized, but the Kings wouldn’t have much of that on the roster.
Buddy Hield would likely have to be included in any Simmons deal heading back to Philadelphia. Davion Mitchell or Tyrese Haliburton would likely be included as well, who are two more good 3-point shooters. The only plus-rated 3-point shooter that would be remaining on the team would be Harrison Barnes.

That would be a recipe for disaster. Building around Simmons without spacing would decimate the offense. While the Kings are a team Simmons would okay a trade to, they are far from the best fit for him.
