The Philadelphia 76ers are going to have to make a move involving Ben Simmons sooner or later. They can tell teams that they have trade discussions with that they are comfortable having him on the roster heading into the 2021-22 NBA season, but a deal will have to be made eventually.
Simmons has reportedly cut off all communication with the organization, as everything is going through his agent. He has ignored calls from Joel Embiid, essentially cutting all ties with the franchise that selected him first overall in 2016.
If that is true, the 76ers know they cannot bring Simmons back, and the rest of the league knows that is the case as well. So, something will have to give and it will be that Philadelphia parts ways with him sooner than later.
They are reportedly motivated to get a deal done, but the trade offers they have offered teams make it seem like that is not the case. The Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors all received offers that wouldn’t even be accepted in a video game.
