Would this trade make sense for the Washington Wizards?
The Washington Wizards have been in rebuilding mode but have not been able to fully get there because their big names have been in place. John Wall was sent away last offseason and Russell Westbrook was moved this year. Now, Beal could be next and Washington could finally move fully toward that rebuild.
Washington is not a championship team. Despite making the postseason as the eighth seed, the Wizards are not viewed as a threat and should just blow it up and move Beal. The two sides have been linked for nearly a decade but all good things come to an end.
Right now, the value around Beal is still sky high. Gordon has just one year left on his contract so that is a short-term option but Porter Jr. is the intrigue in this deal. He is legitimate and has a chance to be a star.
The Wizards could get younger and build around their core in place. Beal would warrant some good, young talent along with draft picks. That is gold to a team like Washington.

The Wizards have finished near the bottom of the conference with Beal so it is not like they are giving away success. This is just a move that will completely set sights on rebuilding and adding some younger talent.
