The loyalty that Bradley Beal has to the Washington Wizards’ organization can never be questioned. The Wizards selected Beal out of Florida with the third-overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft and never looked back. Beal has turned into one of the best scorers in the league and has not requested a trade with Washington near the bottom of the league. It has actually been the opposite.
Beal has constantly said that he has no interest in leaving Washington but he remains a name to watch in NBA trade rumors. This is a bit surprising of a star to say in the NBA when his team is going south.
The Wizards are more than on their way south — they have been there for years. Washington was able to sneak into the postseason this year with the duo of Beal and Russell Westbrook leading the way.
Westbrook is now with the Los Angeles Lakers and Beal was expected to be moved next. That has not happened just yet but could this offseason. There would be plenty of teams interested in adding an elite scorer like Beal.
The Denver Nuggets come to mind right away. This is a team that has been near the top of the Western Conference over the last two years but have not been able to represent in the NBA Finals. Nikola Jokic was named MVP this season and Jamal Murray is one of the top guards in the league.
The Nuggets were eliminated in the second round of the postseason. Murray was out with a knee injury and Denver ran into a buzzsaw in the Phoenix Suns. The West is extremely deep and improved this offseason. That means the Nuggets could be in the market for that next superstar.
Beal could be that next big piece added to the Nuggets. This NBA trade scenario between the Denver Nuggets and Washington Wizards could land Beal in Denver sooner than later.
