The Los Angeles Lakers are preparing for another postseason run next season. They were taken out of the first round this year because of injuries and a lack of depth. They are working to avoid that fate this season and that includes making some big moves in NBA free agency and the trade market.
It begins with the addition of Russell Westbrook. Los Angeles has been linked to many big-name point guards throughout the offseason. This included Chris Paul and Kyle Lowry, along with Westbrook. They ended up with new contracts while Westbrook was traded to the Lakers from the Washington Wizards.

Even without Westbrook, the Lakers were favorites in the postseason last year. Injuries forced them to fall to the seventh seed in the Western Conference and Davis was missing in the first round.
