2. Garrison Mathews
Garrison Mathews can be found on many lists of the best available free agents but near the bottom of the top 10. He is still flying a bit under-the-radar and this could work in the Lakers’ favor. If three-point ability is high on the list for Los Angeles, Mathews should be a name to consider.
In two years with the Washington Wizards, Mathews shot 38.9% from beyond the arc. He is a talented shooter that can create his own shot or act as a catch-and-shoot option.
Mathews has great range and runs the floor well in transition. While Mathews could have a high ceiling, he is not a proven commodity.
The Lakers would have to use Mathews sparingly and adjust to his game. He is another option that could come off the bench to knock down a shot and compete on the defensive end of the floor.

There could be a trend when looking at what the Lakers are looking for this offseason. If it is shooting and defense, Mathews could be on the list moving forward.
