The Los Angeles Clippers’ offense is going to take a big hit this season. Kawhi Leonard’s return to the court is unknown after he injured his knee in the team’s second-round matchup with the Utah Jazz.

Paul George and Reggie Jackson were excellent picking up the scoring load without Leonard. But, the team could use more scoring punch. It is one thing to carry a team for eight games in the playoffs. Having to do it for a full 82-game season is a different story.

One player that could help fill that scoring void is Buddy Hield. The Sacramento Kings have been shopping the sharpshooting shooting guard for a while now.

It looked like Buddy Hield was going to be heading to the Clippers’ Staples Center co-tenants, the Los Angeles Lakers. But, that deal fell through at the last minute as the Lakers pivoted to a deal with the Washington Wizards for Russell Westbrook.

Buddy Hield would provide another scoring option for the Clippers and is an elite 3-point shooter. Los Angeles was the best 3-point shooting team in the NBA last season, so adding another sniper like Hield would only cement them atop the league.
