1. Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers signed Wesley Matthews last offseason as part of the plan to add shooting around LeBron James and Anthony Davis. It didn’t turn out as planned, as the Lakers were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs and Matthews struggled with his shot.

But, there is no denying where Matthews wants to be this upcoming season. If he had his way, he would certainly return to the Lakers. A reunion with the two would make sense for both sides.

Matthews, at 34 going on 35-years old, is looking to win a championship. It is why he signed with the Lakers last season and the team is in better shape to accomplish that goal this season. Los Angeles should want him back as well.

Loading up on 3-and-D wings is never a bad thing. Wayne Ellington and Trevor Ariza can both fill that role, but Matthews would give them yet another option to turn to should injuries arise once again.

Being with the Lakers for a second season should lead to better results as he will be more comfortable in the schemes Frank Vogel is running. While his 3-point shooting was not as good as it normally is, he still provided a solid impact defensively, something you can never have too much of when you are a contending team.
