3. Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls aggressively revamped their roster in recent months. They pulled off a big trade at the deadline, acquiring Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic. While the move didn’t result in a playoff spot this past season, it was just the beginning for Chicago’s front office in upgrading the roster.

The first move of free agency was Chicago landing Lonzo Ball in a sign-and-trade with the New Orleans Pelicans. Alex Caruso followed, with DeMar DeRozan being acquired in a sign-and-trade with the San Antonio Spurs following that.

The Bulls are undoubtedly improved, as those three players, combined with Zach LaVine and Vucevic, are an excellent core to build up. Second-year forward Patrick Williams is playing very well in Summer League and looking to make a jump this season as well.

However, the Bulls are lacking depth, especially on the wings. Wesley Matthews would help alleviate that, as he can provide them minutes at shooting guard and small forward.

The Bulls sacrificed a lot of depth in acquiring their players this offseason. Troy Brown is the only backup currently on the roster behind LaVine and DeRozan, so Matthews would find himself squarely in the rotation should he want to play for the Bulls.
