2. Miami Heat

The Miami Heat were aggressive this offseason in upgrading their roster. They did not have a draft pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, but they went on a spending spree in free agency.

The Heat landed one of the best free agents available in point guard Kyle Lowry. He will slot right into their starting point guard role, as Goran Dragic was traded to the Toronto Raptors as part of the sign-and-trade deal and Kendrick Nunn signed with the Los Angeles Lakers.

In addition to Lowry, veteran forward Markieff Morris and P.J. Tucker were also brought into the fold. Duncan Robinson was re-signed and Jimmy Butler agreed to a max extension with the team.

While the talent has been upgraded, the Heat are lacking depth on their roster. With Andre Iguodala and Trevor Ariza also departing this offseason, Miami needs help on the wing. Wesley Matthews would be a great replacement for them, especially if he can return to form shooting the 3-ball after making only 33.5 percent with the Lakers last season.

Matthews will also provide some insurance in case Victor Oladipo is unable to return from his quadriceps injury and misses the entirety of the season.
