Following a win in the NBA Finals last season, nearly everything that could’ve gone wrong for the Los Angeles Lakers did this season.
For starters, both Anthony Davis and LeBron James dealt with injuries later in the season that prevented the team from reaching their potential. Also, the additions of Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell didn’t pan out as expected.
With Schroder set to be an unrestricted free agent and Harrell having a player option, both could be playing elsewhere next season.
Regardless of what happens to Schroder and Harrell, the Lakers have some areas of the roster that need to be bolstered this offseason.

Finding a point guard or combo guard that can be the third scoring option behind James and Davis should be a priority for Los Angeles in the coming weeks.
While the Lakers compile a list of targets in free agency or via trade, here are a few ideal roster upgrades that the franchise could make to put them back into contention in the Western Conference.
