Lonzo Ball
Could we see Lonzo Ball make a return to the team he was drafted by this summer? Due to the team’s lack of cap space, the Lakers wouldn’t be able to sign Ball to an offer sheet outright.
Ball is a restricted free agent for the New Orleans Pelicans, but New Orleans hasn’t shown any signs of wanting to match any offers for the former first-round pick. So if Los Angeles wants to reunite with Ball, they’ll need to send an enticing sign-and-trade offer that New Orleans can’t refuse.
While Lonzo Ball wasn’t a premier shooter or scorer early in his career with the Lakers, he’s evolved into a much-improved shooter on the Pelicans. In his past two seasons with New Orleans, Ball has averaged 13.1 points on 37.6 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
Ball’s newfound ability to knock down threes at an efficient clip would be ideal in an offense that features James and Davis.

Also, Lonzo Ball’s playmaking would help the Lakers improve their offense when James isn’t on the floor and he’s already a formidable defender, which fits Frank Vogel’s M.O.
