Sacramento Kings Receive: C/F Kristaps Porzingis, G Josh Richardson (player-option), G Tyrell Terry, 2022 first-round pick swap and 2025 first-round pick
Dallas Mavericks Receive: F Harrison Barnes and G Buddy Hield
Kristaps Porzingis would be the biggest name being moved in this NBA trade scenario but he would certainly not be alone. The Dallas Mavericks would give him a fresh start while hoping that a pair of new veterans would find success next to Luka Doncic.
It’s clear that Porzingis isn’t working in Dallas. In theory, his shooting ability and general skill-set should make him a fit alongside Doncic, and it did early on. However, his attitude and aspirations to be the top option for a team have gotten in the way of success as of late.
The Sacramento Kings have rotation players that could help and it begins with Buddy Hield and Harrison Barnes. This means the Kings would get some assets back.
Along with Porzingis, Josh Richardson and Tyrell Terry would lead the return. They would also swap first-round picks in next year’s draft and send a 2025 first-round pick. Sacramento would be able to pair Porzingis with De’Aaron Fox in hopes of building the star power.

The Kings need to get creative when it comes to surrounding Fox with talent and a ‘buy-low’ trade for Porzingis could be an intriguing option. Meanwhile, the Mavericks need to move forward with players who are fully bought in.
Let’s take a closer look and see how this NBA trade scenario centered around Kristaps Porzingis would impact both the Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings.
