Does this trade make sense for the Dallas Mavericks?
This trade benefits the Dallas Mavericks right away if Kristaps Porzingis is unhappy with his current situation. There is still value to where Mark Cuban could put some productive players around Luka Doncic, especially on the perimeter. Buddy Hield and Harrison Barnes would be ready to contribute right away.
Hield has turned into one of the best shooters in the league. Tim Hardaway Jr. will be a priority for the Mavericks but there is a chance that he leaves in free agency.
Either way, Buddy Hield is a fit. Tim Hardaway Jr. could return and having Hield alongside him on the perimeter would give the Mavericks plenty of options.
Barnes is a veteran with great experience in the postseason. This is valuable for a team looking to take that next step. It is important for Dallas to understand which brand of player fits well next to Doncic and this trade would give two.
