No Pressure Being The Guy
With the Dallas Mavericks, Victor Oladipo would be afforded the time to recover from his surgery and rehab so that he can return 100 percent healthy. He would also be joining a team that he would not be relied upon as the go-to guy.
In Dallas, Luka Doncic is the face of the franchise. He is the player that carries the team and his secondary superstar, at least for now, is Kristaps Porzinigs.
Oladipo can come in and expect to be, at most, the third go-to player on the team, an area he may flourish in.
His slashing style of offense would also mesh well alongside Doncic’s playmaking, as he is adept at finding cutters to finish at the basket. Being a secondary playmaker behind Luka is a role that Oladipo could excel in as well.

Teams will be hesitant to give Oladipo a multi-year deal given his injury history. Landing with the Mavericks would present a good opportunity for him to rehab his value once he is healthy and hit free agency again in 2022.
