Dallas Needs Defense

If there is one thing that the Dallas Mavericks need to find this offseason it is more defense. Dallas has not gotten it done on that end of the court for years, as their defense rating has worsened for six consecutive seasons.

If they want to make any serious noise in the playoffs, that has to chance and Victor Oladipo can help them accomplish it.

Oladipo has been a very good defender throughout his NBA career. This most recent season he recorded the worst cumulative defensive rating for a season in his career, but some of that can be attributed to playing for three different teams and having to learn new schemes.

Oladipo would be able to defend the opposing team’s best perimeter player every night, taking some pressure off of Luka Doncic, who was tasked with doing it for stretches at a time.
