Memphis Grizzlies: Grayson Allen
When speaking about the Memphis Grizzlies, some people believe that Jonas Valanciunas is a name to watch as a potential trade candidate. Valanciunas led the team in win shares contributed for the second straight season in 2020-2021 and he fits well with Memphis’ young roster.
Despite the idea that Valanciunas could be headed elsewhere, the Grizzlies should consider trading Grayson Allen first. Memphis is crowded at both guard spots with Ja Morant, De’Anthony Melton, Desmond Bane, and Tyus Jones. After recording a career-high 10.6 points on 39.1 percent shooting from outside the three-point line this season, some teams could view Allen as an under-the-radar trade piece this summer.
Minnesota Timberwolves: Jarrett Culver
Seeing that the Minnesota Timberwolves aren’t a team that is enticing for free agents or trade candidates, they have built most of their roster through the draft. Back in the 2019 NBA Draft, the Timberwolves selected Jarrett Culver with the sixth overall pick out of Texas Tech. The belief was that Culver could evolve into a long-term fixture for them at the shooting guard position.
On the contrary, he’s failed to find his footing in his first two seasons, posting 7.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game on 28.8 percent shooting from outside. With Anthony Edwards and Malik Beasley excelling at the shooting guard position this season, the Timberwolves should get whatever they possibly can for Culver.
New Orleans Pelicans: Steven Adams
The outlook of the offseason for the New Orleans Pelicans is depending on whether or not the team retains Lonzo Ball. All signs point toward the franchise letting Ball depart in free agency, leaving a void at the point guard position. While the team needs to surround Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson with more talent, Steven Adams should be placed on the trade block.

Adams has nearly $35 million and two years remaining on his contract and the Pelicans have viable replacements at the center position. Both Jaxson Hayes and Willy Hernangomez (who they’ll need to re-sign in free agency) showed that they are capable of producing as starters this season.
