3. Serge Ibaka
Backup center Dwight Howard is entering free agency and the Philadelphia 76ers need to have a backup plan in case he departs. Serge Ibaka would be an excellent target should he reach free agency himself.
Ibaka has a $9.7 million player option for the 2021-22 season after signing a mid-level exception deal with the LA Clippers in 2020. If he declines that option in hopes of landing a multi-year extension, Philadelphia presents a great opportunity.
The 76ers need a big man that can stretch the floor behind Joel Embiid. It would help keep some continuity between the starting five and reserves. Ibaka would also bring some rim protection to the table so that the defense doesn’t fall off with the second unit.
Ibaka would also bring much-needed leadership and experience to the 76ers.

The team’s core has never advanced beyond the second round of the postseason, so bringing in more players that know how to win a championship makes a lot of sense.
