Does this trade make sense for the Sacramento Kings?
Buddy Hield has been the biggest trade piece for the Sacramento Kings all year long. There has been nothing done yet but that could change this offseason. In a deal for a player like Ben Simmons, Hield will certainly have to be involved along with other pieces.
If there is a team out there that wants to make a trade for Simmons, they will have to have a plan on how to use him. This is something that the Sixers have not figured out and ultimately this is why they could trade him. Sacramento would not ask Simmons to take over as point guard.
He could be a versatile piece that plays all over the floor on both ends. Simmons is still a strong defender and can pass and rebound at a high rate. His shooting woes are not going to go away so teams will have to plan for that moving forward.
If there is a team in need of the defensive impact that Simmons brings to the table, it’s the Kings. There truly may not be a worse defensive team in the league. That alone should provide reason for intrigue.
