Much of the attention in the offseason is going to be around Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers. Rightfully so. Simmons is a former No. 1 pick of the Sixers and landed a max contract with the team. He has not performed like a max NBA player in recent years and especially not during the postseason.

The Sixers landed the top seed in the Eastern Conference this season. It was another disappointing finish for Philadelphia as they were eliminated in the second round by the Atlanta Hawks. Simmons continued to defend well and handled the offense well but his lack of shooting ability took the next step.

Simmons finished with 13 assists in Game 7 against the Hawks but continued to pass up shots in the fourth quarter. He attempted just three shots in the fourth quarter throughout the entire series. This is an issue that the 76ers need to address.

If they want to address this in a trade, there will be plenty of interested teams. The Sacramento Kings could be one. They have plenty of assets they would be able to send away and it begins with Buddy Hield. He has been in rumors for a year now but the two sides have not been able to find a deal.

The Kings also hold the ninth pick in this year’s NBA Draft. Sacramento has been near the bottom of the Western Conference for years now and it is time that they make a move to improve the team. Simmons would be a blockbuster deal wherever he goes.
