Best trade Timberwolves could offer 76ers for Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons, Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, NBA Trade Rumors

For many NBA seasons, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been praying for anything to go their way and while they did add D’Angelo Russell and Anthony Edwards, this team still has some major problems to sort out. Outside of their starting rotation, Minnesota really does not have much solidified talent and the main problem with their starting unit is that they are always injured!

Karl-Anthony Towns dealt with some injuries this season, D’Angelo Russell has been dealing with ongoing knee injuries and Malik Beasley missed a handful of time this season due to a hamstring injury. Moving forward, the Timberwolves actually have a good group to build with and potentially start winning games with, but how much longer are they willing to wait?

This is a franchise that has not seen much success over the years and they have one of the best big men in the entire league in Karl-Anthony Towns that is just sitting around and wasting some of the best years of his career.

Now is the time for them to capitalize on their current talent and make the most of what they have, which is why the Timberwolves have been mentioned in NBA trade rumors as wanting to “aggressively” pursuing Philadelphia 76ers’ 7-footer, Ben Simmons.

After the Sixers’ season came to an end at the hands of the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, a lot of the blame was put on Ben Simmons and rightfully so. Given how lengthy and athletic he is, the Hawks had nobody on their roster that could guard him one-on-one, yet he was non-existent offensively and was horrid from the free-throw line, shooting 33.3% from there.

Simmons’ offensive struggles have long been documented and with the 76ers being in “win-now” mode, could they potentially look to move on from Ben Simmons in the offseason? He really does not bring much to the table for them in the postseason on offense, as seen this year, so trading him away now and getting the most out of him could be worthwhile for the Sixers in their championship efforts.

With that said, let’s take a look at the best trade the Minnesota Timberwolves could potentially offer the Philadelphia 76ers in attempts to land Ben Simmons, one of the best players available on the trade market this offseason.
