New York Knicks
It was a step in the right direction for the New York Knicks this season as they made the playoffs for the first time since the 2012-2013 season. The duo of Julius Randle and RJ Barrett is something to build around, and the Knicks have the most cap space available entering the offseason. There’s no doubt that the Knicks are going to be one of the most aggressive teams during NBA free agency and on the trade market.
In all likeliness, New York is going to be looking for a point guard that could fit alongside Randle and Barrett. If the Knicks miss out on guys like Lonzo Ball, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Lowry, and they elect to not bring back Derrick Rose, then trading for Kemba Walker could be a contingency plan.
The Knicks would have enough cap space to take Walker’s contract and Tom Thibodeau would love to have a point guard that exudes as much energy as Walker.
