Chicago Bulls

Ahead of the NBA trade deadline this season, the Chicago Bulls made a blockbuster move to acquire Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic. The idea was to pair Vucevic with Zach LaVine in hopes to secure a spot in the playoffs in a weak Eastern Conference. On the contrary, the Bulls would falter down the stretch, concluding the year as the No. 11 seed in the conference.

For Chicago to take the necessary steps to reach the playoffs, they’ll need to add a third option alongside LaVine and Vucevic. Kemba Walker could become the starting point guard of the Bulls, allowing LaVine to have another ball-handler in the backcourt.

As evidenced by his 36 percent shooting from beyond the arc, Walker is more than capable of operating off of the ball too, which fits well with how Chicago wants the ball in LaVine’s hands as often as possible.

In the coming years, the Bulls need to do everything they can to convince LaVine to remain in Chicago. While Walker wouldn’t be the flashiest move, if the four-time All Star can remain healthy, landing Walker could be a fruitful move for the Bulls next season.
