If there is any change in Kawhi Leonard’s tune and he wants to leave LA, the Knicks have to pounce. While Leonard has rubbed some people the wrong way with the Clippers, there is no denying the talent and performance on the basketball court.
There is arguably not a better fit, skill set and mentality-wise to the game of basketball, for a Thibodeau team than Kawhi Leonard. He is a star defender and turned himself into a legitimate three-level scorer on offense.
Adding someone of his caliber alongside Julius Randle and RJ Barrett would further legitimize the Knicks’ return. Adding someone the caliber of Kawhi Leonard could also help the Knicks pitch other free agents to come to Madison Square Garden and contend for a championship.
