Powell has the skill set that he can play alongside anyone and excel. He has proven that he can fill it up when needed, something the Knicks could use as they sometimes are over-reliant on Julius Randle to create the entire offense. He has averaged 17.3 points per game the last two seasons and is a strong 3-point shooter, knocking down 37.7 percent of his attempts from downtown in his career.
Norman Powell also gets after it defensively, something that is a must for a Thibodeau-coached player. He can defend multiple positions, which is key in the NBA nowadays.
Portland isn’t going to let Norman Powell leave without putting up a fight, as they traded away Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood for him. The price could also be a deterrent, as Powell could land $20 million annually per season.
