Why This Trade Would Benefit The New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans are in a much-more difficult situation than the Chicago Bulls. The Western Conference is elite and much harder to compete in. The Pelicans have some work to do but they have the star power and that is obvious. Zion Williamson is scoring 25.7 points per game and Ingram is right behind him with 23.9.
Lauri Markkanen would bring a new dynamic to the team. He is a seven-footer that can step out and knock down a three while protecting the rim on the other end of the floor. Lonzo Ball is beginning to show a bit of value but the Pelicans might not believe he is part of the future plans.
He has been inconsistent over the course of his career which is a reason that he has been in NBA trade rumors. Both Williamson and Ingram are strong in the midrange. The Pelicans lack a true big man and this is what Markkanen would bring them if he is able to stay healthy.
