Kevin Love, Cleveland Cavaliers

After winning a championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, Kevin Love has been one of the better players on the Cavs, especially after LeBron departed in 2018. While he has dealt with injuries, he remains an intriguing trade target for teams to consider.

Over the course of his 12-year career in the NBA, Kevin Love has averaged 18.2 points, 11.1 rebounds and has shot over 37% from three-point range as a power-forward. His shooting attributes and rebounding abilities have made him a very valuable trade target for numerous teams around the league, but the question that remains is if the Cleveland Cavaliers are willing to move on from him.

If more injuries occur early in the year and/or things are not working out, the Indiana Pacers will not be hesitant to make a big move and change their roster up to be able to contend immediately. They have invested too much money and time to get booted in the first-round of the playoffs again, which is why Kevin Love could be on their radar.

Next to Domantas Sabonis in the frontcourt, Love could really fill-out the role of being an aggressive rebounder and three-point threat well, especially since Indiana tends to rely on the three-point shot. The Pacers currently rank 12th in the league in three-point shooting percentage, but just 19th in three-pointers made per game.

Kevin Love can help both of these categories increase and he can really help them with rebounding, where they currently rank 28th in the league.

Victor Oladipo and Myles Turner are two names that have come up a lot in trade rumors this offseason and if the Pacers are willing to make a big move, these two guys will likely be on the receiving end of another team in a trade with the Pacers. Oladipo has not been able to stay healthy over the years and Myles Turner has been one of the best shot-blockers in the league.

Both guys would be intriguing targets for the Cavaliers if they were to trade Love and for Indiana, Kevin Love gives them another “double-double” like player next to Sabonis. They need to improve their frontcourt and while Turner is one of the better defensive players in the league, Love can really help Indiana’s offense now and make them a threat come playoff time.
