Utah Jazz Rally Late To Make Playoffs For 5th Consecutive Year

Throughout the 2020-21 NBA season, the Utah Jazz are going to be a very good basketball team, but they are going to be a lot like the 6-seed team they were in the West a year ago. Not much has changed roster wise about this team and they are hoping that their young players continue to improve to push them over the edge.

With almost every other team in the Western Conference improving drastically, it is hard to imagine the Utah Jazz will be better than they were a season ago. Sure, they will be a great three-point shooting team and a decent defensive team because of Rudy Gobert being one of the best shot-blockers in the league, but nothing about this team has improved.

As a result, they will be fighting late in the season, much like last year, to make the playoffs because of how good the Western Conference is. Right now, they are a mid-tier playoff team in the West that could potentially get to the Western Conference Semifinals, but they are in the same boat as the Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors.

It is hard to point out one thing that separates them as a team from these other teams other than Donovan Mitchell being an individual catalyst for scoring. He may go out and score 50+ points, but like we saw in the playoffs last year, this was still not enough for them to advance past the Denver Nuggets in the first-round.

The Utah Jazz will still make the playoffs for the 5th consecutive season, but in order for them to make the Western Conference Semifinals and potentially farther, other players besides Donovan Mitchell will have to elevate their games this season.
