Donovan Mitchell Earns Spot On One Of All-NBA Team
We touched on how Donovan Mitchell played in the playoffs for the Jazz at the end of last season and how dominant of a player he became, but this was the storyline through the entire 2019-20 season for Mitchell. He did not just have a good couple of games in the playoffs, he was consistently one of the better players in the entire NBA and led the Jazz in scoring.
Last season, Donovan Mitchell averaged 24.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and shot 44.9% from the floor, 36.6% from three-point range, earning him his first of what will be many All-Star appearances. Mitchell has been in the NBA for three years now and in those first three seasons, he has never averaged less than 20.5 points per game for a season and has consistently been getting better in every area on a stat sheet.
The growth that Mitchell has had in his first three seasons is quite impressive and if he continues to improve, like the trend says he will, Donovan Mitchell will be in the running for some big time achievements and awards. He made his first All-Star game last year, he joined Hall-of-Famers on some pretty astonishing achievement lists and now this year, he is going to make his first All-NBA team.
There is no part of Donovan Mitchell’s game that he has shown a weakness in and given his athletic abilities, there is no stopping him when he gets going. Mitchell is one of the most athletic players in the entire NBA and using that to his advantage, he can continue to build himself into one of the most dominant players of this generation.
Rudy Gobert is an All-Star level talent next to Mitchell, but if the Jazz can bring in one more big name player, the Utah Jazz will be one of the favorites to win a championship over the course of the next several years. Donovan Mitchell is an NBA superstar and will continue to build himself into one of the best players in Utah Jazz history.
