Utah Jazz Finish As One Of Better 3-Point Shooting Teams
Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley, Bojan Bogdanovic, Joe Ingles, Jordan Clarkson, Royce O’Neale, Juwan Morgan and George Niang all shot over 36% from three-point range last season and they all return to the team this year. Last season, the Jazz were the top three-point shooting team in the league, shooting 38% from deep and should once again finish amongst the top of the league in this category.
The scary thing about the Utah Jazz three-point shooting barrage is that it is only going to get better as Clarkson is set to begin his first full season with the Jazz, Donovan Mitchell is continuing to improve as a player and rookie Elijah Hughes can shoot at a high-level from deep. This team has been built around the three-point shot and anything less than a team average of 37% from three-point range would be extremely disappointing.
Besides Rudy Gobert, Derrick Favors and first-round pick Udoka Azubuike, everybody on this year’s Utah Jazz roster is more than capable of shooting 32% or better from beyond the three-point line, making them extremely difficult to defend.
Obviously, a lot of attention for Utah’s opponents will go to defending the perimeter, but if they forget about Rudy Gobert underneath, Mitchell and Conley will be throwing lobs to him all day long.
Given the fact that the Utah Jazz return basically their entire roster from last season and everyone being healthy, there is no reason why the Jazz should not finish as one of the top three-point shooting teams in the league once again.
