Russell Westbrook’s Projected Landing Spot: New York Knicks

The contract is irrelevant, it does not matter if the Knicks are not close to competing. They need a culture-changing player. The Knicks need to add that star who can bring some excitement back to the Garden. The Knicks are unwatchable. This deal goes far past winning on the court.

Westbrook would bring excitement to New York. He is the type of player that Knicks fans will want to watch and one that could persuade some free agents to join the team. At some point, that needs to take precedent over blowing pick after pick in the NBA Draft.
Leon Rose needs to make a splash this offseason. The Knicks have trade pieces in Julius Randle, Bobby Portis, Elfrid Payton, and Wayne Ellington. That is not to mention Frank Ntilikina, Kevin Knox, and the No. 8 pick in the draft. If there is a team that needs to get something done, it is the Knicks.
