This Knicks-Rockets trade sends Russell Westbrook to Eastern Conference

If there is one team that needs to make some serious upgrades, it is the New York Knicks. They have turned into the laughing stock of the NBA and have done it quickly. With James Harden and Russell Westbrook in the rumor mill, could executing a trade with the Houston Rockets be an option?

The Rockets brought Westbrook in to pair with James Harden and it did not work in year one. Houston got rid of Mike D’Antoni as head coach and Daryl Morey resigned. Now, Westbrook has requested a trade and will likely find himself on the move, as a result.

New York has said that they are interested in taking on an undesirable contract. Westbrook is owed a ton of money but likely would meet his value as a primary option leading a team on his own.

If you are the Knicks, the cap hit should not matter. They need to give people a reason to watch and their recent NBA Draft picks have not supplied that. Why would the No. 8 pick in a weak class be any different?

Let’s take a look at a blockbuster NBA trade between the Houston Rockets and New York Knicks centered around Russell Westbrook.
