5. Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavs are fifth on this list because it is hard to imagine Rajon Rondo signing with a team that is not contending and not in New York. As expected, once LeBron James left, the Cavs went into complete rebuild mode and they have begun with young players like Kevin Porter Jr., Collin Sexton, and Darius Garland.
Cleveland still has veteran players like Kevin Love and Andre Drummond on the roster. They have a nice mix of experience and youth. Rondo would fit nicely at the point guard position.
Right now, Sexton and Garland are responsible for handling the ball. Getting a veteran like Rondo in there to teach and mentor the young players would benefit the Cavs in the long run.
Cleveland and Rondo would not be a long term arrangement. This is an attractive option for Cleveland for the next few years while they continue their rebuild and attempt to get back into the postseason.
