Can an NBA team have too many 3-and-D wings? It’s hard to say. On the one hand, it’s a valuable skill set to double down on.
The more players you have who can shoot and defend, the easier life is for your primary creators.
On the other hand, without that primary creator, the value of those 3-and-D gets lesser. A bunch of players who can shoot and defend but can’t create their own offense is only going to get you so far.
This year’s Brooklyn Nets showed us that. This team is stacked with 3-and-D wings, but they don’t have much in the way of offensive creation.
With that in mind, don’t be surprised if they pursue a star offensive player this summer.
Could they pursue another 3-and-D wing instead?
