Easily. This is a no-brainer for the Indiana Pacers. They’re capitalizing on a buy-low opportunity. Obi Toppin’s value may be torpedoed, but make no mistake – this is a player who has flashed plenty of potential in the NBA.
When he finds the floor, Toppin looks like a high-level energy guy. He’s an absolute weapon in transition and can guard multiple positions in the half court.
He also fills a position of need for Indiana. Even if they end up drafting a four in the lottery this year, they’ll have more opportunities for Toppin than the Knicks have.
If he earns a role with them, it could help them stop their rebuild as soon as possible. They’d have a lot of boxes checked 1-5 in their lineup.
