New York Knicks Receive: G/F DeMar DeRozan 

Chicago Bulls Receive: G/F RJ Barrett 

That’s right. This deal involves no draft capital. It’s a rare player-for-player swap. 

It happens to make sense. The New York Knicks exceeded expectations this season. The fact that they did so with a subpar performance from Barrett makes their year all the more impressive. 

With that in mind, it may be time to move on from the recent lottery pick. The Knicks are in win-now mode. Meanwhile, Barrett is clearly still in development.

That shouldn’t deter the Bulls. We’re operating under the assumption that they’re triggering a rebuild this summer.

With that said, if they wanted to, they might be able to swing a bigger trade. 

It would simply involve moving both of their primary trade targets.
