Why The Golden State Warriors Do The Deal 

The Warriors benefit in two ways from making this deal. 

Firstly, they get off of Poole’s extension. This team is about to hit the second apron of the luxury tax. At some point, they’ll have to make financial concessions. 

Why not part with the player who just finished a poor season? Of course, this isn’t a salary dump. Poole is young and has potential – the Warriors need to get value for him.
