If you need an example of an NBA player improving, look no further than DeRozan. 

He’s always been talented. DeRozan entered the NBA as a hyper athlete who could score with the best of them. Yet, somehow, it feels like he adds something to his game every year. 

Early in his career, he was regarded as a black hole. DeRozan was not known for passing the ball. Now, he’s among the best positional playmakers in the NBA.

On the other hand, we can’t expect this trajectory for every player. Some players gradually improve. Others have a less linear progression.

Poole isn’t on DeRozan’s path, but he can still develop the natural talent that he obviously has.
